How thick should you go with a firm memory foam mattress topper? They come in a range of thicknesses however the common ones are two or three inch designs. A firm one should be three inches or thicker as this provides more support to you when you sleep in the memory foam and will prevent the parts that are heavier bumping into the bottom of the bed through the memory foam.
If you've slept on memory foam before, you will know that they should remove all the pressure points on your body. You should not feel any added pressure on any area of your body - which is why they are a good choice for people with back issues.
This ability to conform to exact body shape ensures an even distribution of weight, which means there are no pressure points. Pressure points are what lead many to wake up each morning with aches and pains. In fact, it was in hospitals that cared for bed ridden patients that the first Tempurpedic mattresses were originally used.
