Memory foam toppers come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They are manufactured to fit the most common sizes of beds like Twin, Double and others. Memory foam toppers are also made in a variety of thicknesses. The most common is a two inch, since this is the cheapest option, but there are also more. People who like a firmer bed might decide that they prefer a thicker topper (as well as a firmer one, but I'll get that a little later). The thicker the design of the topper the deeper the mould can be. The deeper the mould can be, the bigger the imprint and in some people's opinion, the greater the comfort. It's of course up to you though.
The top layer of a mattress comes in 5 styles. The first is the basic Tight Top; this is the no-frills version. Second, we have Pillow Top; a layer of comfort materials is added on top of the Tight Top. It's attached with gusseted corners that give it a pillow shape. Thirdly, we have the Euro Pillow Top; same as Pillow Top but with more filling. Fourthly, a Euro Top is the same as a Euro Pillow Top but it's not gusseted but attached directly on to the mattress. Lastly, the Box Top is very thick and is also directly attached to the mattress.
If you're sleeping in a cottage on a cot and just need some support, a blow-up air mattress will do. However, if a tent is your primary resting place, you might wish for more padding, as we may call it. The raised twin air mattress stays about a foot over the ground, so you don't get the dampness of the ground while you sleep. Waking up to a dampness is the worst thing one may experience when sleeping on camping.
