The California King, sometimes referred to as the Western king, measures 72" x 84," lying somewhere in the middle of the queen and king sized mattresses. Though it is not as wide as a regular king, it is still 12" wider than the queen and as for length, this champion outweighs the competition beating the regular king by 4."
The Serta Memory Foam Topper Cover includes (as suggested in the name!) a cover that goes over the piece of memory foam that's included. This cover is made of a soft Egyptian cotton material. Once of the interesting things about the cover is that you can feel it though the bed sheets. If you're simply on a sheet on top of a piece of raw memory foam, often you can feel the slightly uncomfortable sensation of rubbing up and over the foam. The covers gets rid of this sensation. The cover also helps to protect the memory foam from dirt and damage.
The advantage or disadvantage here (and read carefully, this is important) is that the cover does change the sensation somewhat. Instead of truly feeling the sensation of memory foam through your linen, the effect is smoothed over slightly for a less intense sensation. You can feel the memory foam - but it's a little less 'ah, there's my foot outline' then say a normal piece of memory foam.
