First off, let's find out what exactly goes in to the manufacture of a Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress. Each Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress is made from continuous wire coil with head to toe helicals with a coil count of over 1500 - far higher than the industry standard. Continuous wire coil issometimes seen as being out-dated and having drawbacks. This criticism goes from not giving true posture support to disturbance when a partner moves about in bed. Newer materials such as pocket springs, latex and memory foam claim to fix all of this. However, these news mattress types are not without their own drawbacks. Pocket spring mattresses are criticised because they start off great but the springs soon wear out leaving dips in the mattress. Latex mattresses don't last as long as traditional mattresses either. And memory foam feels quite different from traditional spring mattresses; a feeling many people don't like at all. The plain truth is that many find sleeping on a continuous coil mattress to be the most comfortable and another truth is that Serta not only use a higher than average coil count in the mattress, they also make the coil from the highest grade steel.
The all natural mattress has earned for the manufacturer the sought after Swan certification. This is Scandinavia`s environmental certification label which attests that the item has been evaluated using a high set of criteria. These criteria include excellence, function and ecological impact on the environment, with a plan of being green.
Also, don't just lie on the mattress. Toss and turn as you would do when you sleep. How does it feel in each position? If you normally sleep with a partner, then have them lie down on it too. Have them move and check whether their turning disturbs you.
If you do buy a Stearns and Foster mattress the salesperson will urge you to buy the 'complete mattress set', which means buying the boxspring as well. Personally, I think a mattress that costs as much as an S and F should give perfectly adequate support without needing the help of a boxspring. However, the decision is yours but I can't help feeling boxsprings are superfluous and are sold for one reason only; to make more money for the manufacturer and retailer.
